Letter: Bill Reineke Highlights Pro-Life Position on Anniversary of Roe v. Wade
Representative Reineke Cosponsored the Heartbeat Bill (as seen above).
As a man of faith and the father of two wonderful daughters, I am deeply disturbed the tremendous loss of life our country has faced thanks to a fateful decision from nearly five decades ago. On this day 47 years ago, the United States Supreme Court made a decision that continues to do us great harm as a country. In Roe v. Wade, the court used twisted logic to enshrine the right to have an abortion in the United States Constitution. Since that time, approximately 50 million unborn babies have been aborted.
In my time as a legislator since 2015, I have been proud to be endorsed by Ohio Right to Life in my past elections because of my steadfast resolve on this issue. As a state representative, I have voted for every piece of pro-life piece of legislation that received a vote in the Statehouse, including the Heartbeat bill (which prohibits an abortion once a fetal heartbeat is detected), defunding planned parenthood, and prohibiting abortions because of a Down Syndrome diagnosis.
I hope all of us in the pro-life community can be inspired by the progress that Ohio has made in the last several years, even with the knowledge that there is more work to do. Thankfully, we have a president committed to appointing pro-life judges and a governor who signed the Heartbeat bill and is unwavering in his commitment to the sanctity of life.
I am running for State Senate to make Ohio a more prosperous state for all of Ohio’s people and to protect the most innocent among us.
In God We Trust,
Representative Bill Reineke
