Rep. Bill Reineke Announces Opposition to Proposed Red Flag Law

(TIFFIN) – State Representative Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin), Republican candidate for Ohio’s 26th Senate District, issued a statement today reaffirming his strong support for Second amendment rights saying that he would vote “no” on the proposed “red flag” legislation pending in the Ohio General Assembly.

Rep. Reineke issued the following statement:

“I have been an unwavering supporter of the Second Amendment my entire life. All Americans are clearly and unequivocally given a Constitutional right to own and operate a firearm to protect themselves and their families. Red flag laws are government overreach and I am genuinely concerned that they would unduly chip away at law-abiding citizens’ Constitutional rights, which is something I simply cannot support.

Mental health issues are very important to me and we have worked tirelessly at the Statehouse to provide more funding and resources to assist in this crisis. I’m committed to continuing to work on mental health issues without infringing on individual Constitutional rights of Ohioans.”

During his time in the Statehouse, Bill Reineke has been a tireless defender of the 2nd Amendment. In each of his past elections, Bill Reineke has been consistently endorsed by Buckeye Firearms and A-rated by the National Rifle Association.

Ohio Republican Party Endorses Bill Reineke for State Senate

(TIFFIN) – The Ohio Republican Party announced their endorsement of State Representative Bill Reineke (R-Tiffin) today in his campaign for Ohio Senate District 26 in the March primary. The 26th District includes Crawford, Marion, Morrow, Sandusky, Seneca, Union, and Wyandot Counties. The endorsement comes just one day after Ohio Republican Party Chairman Jane Timken hosted President Donald Trump at filled-to-capacity rally in Toledo.

Of the endorsement, Reineke expressed gratitude.

“I deeply appreciate the support of Chairman Timken and leaders of the Ohio Republican Party for my State Senate campaign. I have been a conservative Republican my entire life and have consistently supported our shared values as a state representative. The Ohio Republican Party is one of the premier powerhouse organizations in the country, consistently electing conservatives all across our state. I’m grateful to the State Central Committee for their support and look forward to continue working with them now and in the future.”

The Ohio Republican Party endorsement follows a pattern of consistent conservative support for Reineke. Last summer, the Seneca County Republican Party endorsed Reineke unanimously. The campaign announced a team of conservative chairmen for each of the district’s seven counties, which include incumbent Senator Dave Burke and State Representative Riordan McClain. Last week, Reineke announced the endorsements from State Attorney General Dave Yost, State Treasurer Robert Sprague, and Auditor of State Keith Faber.
